This document outlines the critical responsibilities of clinicians conducting forensic medical and mental health evaluations (FMEs) for people seeking asylum and / or other forms of relief in the United States. It provides information on the importance of objective documentation, confidentiality and privacy, mandatory reporting considerations, as well as information on state licensure and liability.
